Super Sport is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing team.

The company you’ll join stands behind one of the world's most advanced sports betting platforms and handles the entire sports betting product development process, from ideation to implementation. The platform is constantly being improved and maintained, with its performance tested in real-time by hundreds of thousands of users.

What you need to bring:

  • At least 5 years of work experience in backend development. Our backend is in Golang, but prior knowledge of Go is not a requirement, as much as the interest and willingness to master it.
  • Understanding of whole systems or interaction of different parts of systems, as well as data streams and how different components affect each other.
  • Fostering a culture of architecture that allows for autonomy, development, and future scaling.
  • Fostering a culture of understanding for junior colleagues and actively passing on knowledge to them.
  • Analysing business problems as a precondition for better delivery and preparing the right steps for delivery.
  • Prioritising tasks for yourself and others.
  • Consistently writing production-ready code that is understandable for other engineers, taking into account edge cases and errors.
  • Releasing directly to production, as well as monitoring, maintaining, and resolving issues in production.
  • Recognising the impact of serious issues (process or system wise), escalating them in a timely manner, and communicating with stakeholders from different areas.

In this role, you will:

  • Work independently with the technologies used and be included in the entire life cycle of product development.
  • Be responsible for your tasks and results delivery, act as a true team player, and always keep perfecting your skills and expertise.
  • Develop high-quality, efficient software code, implement features according to standards, continuously improve existing solutions with suggestions for new functionalities, and write automated tests to ensure code reliability and long-term solution stability.
  • Ensure optimal system performance through code optimisation, monitoring production environments, and resolving issues promptly to maintain stability and reliability.
  • Respond to support tickets and client inquiries efficiently, while monitoring system metrics and alerts in line with defined support guidelines.
  • Identify and communicate potential risks during implementation, collaborating with stakeholders to minimise issues.
  • Document software changes, new features, and all relevant work details for future reference, while writing and refining project tasks, providing regular written/verbal progress updates, and maintaining clear communication with team members and supervisors.
  • Actively participate in Guild activities by sharing knowledge, adopting best practices, and contributing to system-wide engineering initiatives.
